The memories and traditions that make up the Massillon Tiger Swing Band continue long past graduation. We celebrate our alumni and make every effort to keep them involved!

Alumni Band

Each year the MTSB alumni gather to form the MTSB Alumni Band!  This group performs during the Orin "Dykae" Ford Tiger Band Review and provides an opportunity for alums to reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and step once again onto the turf at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium to perform a selection of school songs. The alumni band performance is always a highly anticipated event and a crowd favorite!

85th Anniversary MTSB Alumni Band - Reunion and Performance!

Thursday and Friday, September 7 & 8, 2023

It's time for the 85th anniversary edition of the MTSB Alumni Band!! The alumni will be performing with the current Tiger Swing Band at halftime on Friday, Sept. 8. All MTSB Alumni are welcome and encouraged to join in the performance.

For those choosing to perform with us, there is a MANDATORY rehearsal on Thursday, September 7th at the indoor field from 5:30-8:30pm. There will be a run-thru in the stadium Friday afternoon at 3:15, followed by dinner (provided) in the WHS cafeteria.  

There are three different options: 
  1. I want the whole experience!  March the whole show with the current band...Opening routine (Fanfare, Tiger Rag, & Carry On), followed by Massillon Will Shine, Big Noise From Winnetka, Happy Birthday, and the Alma Mater.  (MANDATORY rehearsal on Thursday, September 7th at the indoor field from 5:30-8:30pm.)
  2. I still play, but I can't do Opening Routine anymore.  Do not march Opening Routine (Fanfare, Tiger Rag, & Carry On) - play from the sidelines. After Opening Routine, join the combined band on the field for  Massillon Will Shine, Big Noise From Winnetka, Happy Birthday, and the Alma Mater with minimal movement to some spots, but mostly park and play. (MANDATORY rehearsal on Thursday, September 7th at the indoor field from 5:30-8:30pm.)
  3. I can't play or march anymore. Come to the dinner in the WHS cafeteria on Friday September 8th at around 4:30pm to see your fellow alumni.
